Slayr type beats are a popular style in the rage and trap subgenres known for their aggressive energy and futuristic sound design. To create a Slayr type beat like the free "LIPSTICK" produced by 8dan.prod1, producers focus on high BPM, minor key tonality, and distinct sound textures. This guide covers 5 essential steps to produce your own Slayr type beat effectively.

1. Understand the BPM and Key

The foundation of a Slayr type beat often lies in its tempo and musical key. The "LIPSTICK" beat is set at 153 BPM and in the key of A# minor (A#m), which delivers an energetic and dark vibe suitable for rage and trap styles. Maintaining this BPM allows the beat to retain the characteristic fast-paced aggression while the minor key enhances the moodiness.

2. Use Signature Sound Elements

Slayr type beats incorporate specific sounds such as distorted synths, glitch effects, sharp 808 basses, and trap hi-hats with rapid rolls. Producers like 8dan.prod1 blend these to create a futuristic rage atmosphere. Layering these elements with punchy drums and occasional melodic motifs helps to capture the Slayr aesthetic. Experimenting with sound design and effects is key to standing out.

3. Follow Licensing Guidelines for Use

Many Slayr type beats, including "LIPSTICK," are offered free for non-profit use such as YouTube or SoundCloud without monetization. However, credit must be given to the producer (prod. 8dan). For commercial use on streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music, a paid license is necessary. Exclusive licenses are required for copyright registration or Content ID claims. Understanding these rules ensures proper legal use.

The Slayr type beat style intersects with rage, waera, and half blood type beats, all emphasizing energetic trap rhythms and experimental sounds. Producers often draw inspiration from artists like Ken Carson, Lucy Bedroque, and Prettifun. Broadening your musical influences within these subgenres can enrich your beat-making approach and help you craft unique instrumentals.

Channels like 8dan.prod1 provide both free and paid Slayr type beats, with offers such as "buy 2, get 1 free" licenses to support creators.
